What is Sex Therapy?
Sex therapy, also known as psychosexual therapy, is a specialist form of talking therapy that addresses sexual difficulties and relationship concerns. Unlike medical treatments, sex therapy focuses on the psychological, emotional and relational factors that may be affecting your intimate life.
Many people are unsure what to expect from sex therapy sessions. It's important to understand that sex therapy is entirely talk-based – there is absolutely no physical contact or examination involved. Sessions take place in a comfortable, confidential environment where you can discuss your concerns openly without judgment.
During therapy, we work together to understand the underlying factors affecting your sexual wellbeing. You may be given exercises or practices to try at home in the privacy of your own relationship, which help build intimacy skills and explore new ways of connecting with yourself or your partner.
Sex therapy is steeped in over 60 years of research and clinical evidence. I take an interdisciplinary approach, using evidence-based methods including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy to achieve the results you need.

About Your Therapist
I am a general member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT), the UK's leading professional body for psychosexual and relationship therapists. I have held this membership for over 20 years, demonstrating my commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards in sex therapy.
With over 30 years of experience working for the NHS and Relate, I now see clients in private practice. Throughout my career, I have supported countless individuals and couples facing sexual and relationship difficulties, and I feel privileged to continue hearing people's stories and helping them achieve more fulfilling intimate lives.
Having heard pretty much everything over three decades of practice, I bring a wealth of experience, understanding and practical expertise to every session. I create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel comfortable discussing even the most sensitive concerns.
